The Need
Serving the five-county area of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, Community PedsCare cares each day for more than 100 children and their families. Community PedsCare offers both palliative care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, who are still seeking aggressive or curative treatment, and hospice care for children with a diagnosis of six months or less of life who have forgone curative treatment.

Community PedsCare tends to the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of children from birth to age 21with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families. Care is provided at no charge to the families and, because the vast majority of care is not reimbursed by insurance, community support is vital in ensuring the availability of these important services.

The vast majority of children in the Community PedsCare program are enrolled in palliative care where many services are not reimbursed by insurance. Care for these children is provided at no cost to the families, and philanthropic support is required to ensure availability of services.
