- Kelly Komatz, MD, MPH, Associate Medical Director, Community PedsCare

The Need
Serving the five-county area of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, Community PedsCare provides palliative and hospice care to children with life-limiting and life threatening conditions. Community Hospice of Northeast Florida is at the forefront of children's palliative and hospice services, and its Community PedsCare program serves as a model for other organizations across the country.

The vast majority of children in the Community PedsCare program are enrolled in palliative care. Care is provided at no charge to the families and, because the vast majority of care is not reimbursed by insurance, community support is vital in ensuring the availability of these important services.
