Dear Friend, The second annual Heart & Sole 5K Run will be held on June 25, 2011, in San Marco at Fletcher Park. In celebration of 11 years of care provided by Community PedsCare, this event will commemorate all of the children and families who have been in the program. The event will be for the entire family, with marvelous food, live entertainment and activities for kids. Your participation as a sponsor of the Heart & Sole 5K Run will provide critical support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. These children and their families are part of Community PedsCare, a pediatric program of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in collaboration with Nemours Children’s Clinic, Wolfson Children’s Hospital and the University of Florida-Jacksonville. Community PedsCare tends to the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of children from birth to age 21 with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families. Care is provided at no charge to the families and, because the vast majority of care is not reimbursed by insurance, community support is vital in ensuring the availability of these important services.
