Halloween Doors & More
Event History

In 2004, several board members came together and decided that there was a need for an event to support the Community PedsCare program - both with awareness and in raising funds to cover the cost of the program.  Marcia Morales, Betty Petway and Darlene Unger started reaching out to friends and hosting receptions to build the committee.  The first Halloween Doors & More Committee was formed with Brooke Acosta-Rua, Susan DuBow and Jill McGriff as the founding Co-Chairs for the event.  With a great deal of vision from the Co-Chairs, committees were formed, donations were made, doors were designed and built, and the First Annual Halloween Doors & More took place on October 15, 2005.  The committee set a goal of 600 attendees and more than 1,200 were in attendance.  That inaugural event raised more than $425,000 for the Community PedsCare program.

The Halloween Doors & More Committee continues to grow annually and provides one-third of the annual budget for Community PedsCare.  The community outreach continually grows, and the awareness of the program has led to the creation of a Comunity PedsCare Community Advisory Board, Community PedsCare Teen Advisory Board and mulitple fundraising events for the program.
